RECEIVE GOD'S GIFT
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). God didn't have to love you enough to send His only Son to die for you... but He did. While we were living our lives in such a way that we were actually mocking God, He died for us - that is amazing love! That is why we call what God did a 'gift'. But like any gift, you have to receive it. You have to say, "Okay God I accept what You did for me."
CONFESS & BELIEVE
"...if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). When we say, "Jesus is Lord', it means that He is "Boss" - He's "in charge" of things now. This is more than just saying these words out-loud. To 'confess' that 'Jesus is Lord' is to live your life like you actually believe this to be true. You 'confess' it by un-ashamedly living it before others. This shows that you really believe.
MAKE THIS COMMITMENT
"God, thank You for loving me. I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I know that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I want to turn from my sins and give You control of my life. Please come into my life right now. Lord, help me to follow you always by talking to me and helping me grow closer to You. I don't understand how You can love me so much, but I now am in love with You too. In Jesus' name... Amen."
