Desperation Church Doctrine

Our Beliefs:
Please 'click' on individual, specific catagories to the left.

These beliefs are at the heart of all we say and do at Desperation Church. We've included
references from  the Bible if you would like to study the Biblical basis for these beliefs.

At Desperation Church, our Unity is very important to us. To those convinced of a different view than ours in any specific area, we value our relationship with you. We welcome continuing dialogue within the Desperation Church community asking only that no one cause division but rather love those who differ. We desire to be a church where believers of varrying views can work in harmony. We expect everyone to keep our bond of unity in peace and love. If anyone finds that they cannot do so, we request that another church-fellowship be sought where those views can better serve the community of Jesus Christ. We must all hold our viewpoints humbly and appreciate the biblical arguments of all. These issues give us the opportunity to show the power of living in love while holding differing viewpoints.

What We Believe:

  • We believe that the only true basis for Christian fellowship is His agape love, which is greater than any difference we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves followers of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 13)
  • We believe that the marks fo a maturing church are Faith, Hope, and Love
    (Col. 1:3-7)
  • Therefore, we place a high emphasis on the teaching of God's Word, that our Faith may grow. (Rom. 10:17)
  • Also, we live in anticipation of the return of Jesus, for He is our blessed Hope. (Titus 2:12)
  • Finally, we desire the fullness of His Spirit in our lives, for the fruit  of the Spirit is Love.  By our love will all men know that we are His disciples. (Gal. 5:22)
