BASE CLASSES
Base Classes are starting up again in July. If you are new to Desperation Church or have been considering membership, these classes are for you. 1^st Base is Sunday, July 5^th at 4pm. 2^nd Base is Sunday, July 19^th at 4pm, and 3^rd Base is Sunday, July 26^th at 4pm. Childcare is provided.

ALL CHURCH PICNIC AND BAPTISM 
All Church Picnic and Baptism Service will be held Sunday, July 12th.  Please call the church office at 816-792-8335 and let our Secretary, Gay Byrom know if you are planning on being one of those baptized. The picnic will start at 1pm out at Smithville Lake. We will be at Shelter #2 in Little Platte Park…(169 N to 180^th St. – Turn right and follow to Little Platte Park) – Parking is $5 per vehicle, so try to carpool.

WE Weight!
Hey, ladies!  Do you struggle with maintaining a healthy weight?  If so, your sister friends are here to offer support and encouragement!  If you are interested in joining an accountability group focused on this topic, please bring your ideas and a healthy snack to our first gathering on Thursday, July 16 at 7pm at DC.  If you are unable to attend, please see Kay Miller or Marilyn Humphrey.


BLOOD DRIVE
There will be a blood drive on Sunday, July 19^th from 11am – 5pm right here at Desperation Church. Check out the fliers in the foyer. The blood drive will be in the DC Office area. For more information, contact Kevin McEvoy at 816.560.8823. To sign up for a time slot online go to www.esavealifenow.org, click Find a Drive and type in the Sponsor Code desperation…from there you can schedule an appointment.

RESURGENCE
Due to scheduling conflicts, the next Resurgence class will be Sunday, August 2^nd at 6pm in the Worship Center. There will be no Resurgence class in July.


KIDS WOW KAMP (aka VBS)
Kids WOW Kamp is right around the corner, July 20^th – 24^th. Be sure to register your kid(s) this weekend at the back table in the Worship Center. There is also an opportunity for those of you who would like to volunteer to help and/or donate items for WOW Kamp.

S.O.S. CAMP
Attention all youth ages 6th grade and up- Our annual S.O.S. camp is coming!!

BLOOD DRIVE
There will be a blood drive on Sunday, July 19^th from 1pm – 6pm right here at Desperation Church. Stay tuned for much more information and sign-up sheets in the coming weeks. Let’s all do our part and make a huge donation to Community Blood Center. 

MOTHER – SON DANCE
SAVE THE DATE:  9/18/09 - 7pm.  Attention moms!  Why let the dads have all the fun?  There is a Mother – Son Dance in the works.  Stay tuned for more details. 

RELATE GROUPS
If you are interested in getting involved in a Relate Group, please check the list below and contact the leaders/hosts for more info and when and where they meet.  During the summer months most groups will not meet on a regular schedule.
